About us
Fluorescent Adolescents are Australia’s premier Arctic Monkeys tribute and recreate the experience of seeing one the most iconic indie/rock bands that redefined British music of the 00s and 10s.
FA’s mission is to bring an unforgettable live experience to AM fans. Drawing from an extensive catalogue of hits ranging from the raw indie energy and kitchen-sink poetry of the early Whatever People Say I Am… and Favourite Worst Nightmare eras, to the masterful lyricism and layered sounds of AM, Fluorescent Adolescents will make you feel like you are seeing Arctic Monkeys at their peak.
Our sets can be a mixed set of AM’s greatest hits or full album “eras” shows pulling out the deep-cuts and B-sides that AM superfans are yearning to hear (and we yearn to play) live once again.

Zak Taylor
a.k.a Alex Turner (Guitar/Vocals)
Hailing from Leeds (UK), our frontman Zak brings an unmatched authenticity to the sound of the band. Full of natural charisma, energy and phenomenal guitar playing to boot, he embodies Alex Turner.
Chris Kelly
a.k.a Nick O'Malley (Bass)
Chris is a bassist with more than 20 years' experience in originals, covers and tribute bands. He knows most punters couldn't tell if the bass tone has slightly too much treble, or if he's hitting Nick O'Malley's incredibly intricate and rhythmically superb bass lines note for note, but Chris lives for the few in the crowd who feel the bass, know the lines, and move their feet with every pulsating note. A frontman in a bassist's body, he can play the bass like lead guitar when the moment calls for it, but more often than not he'd rather lock in with Oscar's beats, find the groove, and bring out the bass face.
Oscar Svendsen
a.k.a Matt Helders (Drums/Vocals)
Oscar brings the frenetic swagger and groove of Matt Helders’ drum style. With a background in progressive rock, Oscar’s natural sense of timing provides the heartbeat for the band.
Dr Robert May
a.k.a Jamie Cook (Guitar)
a.k.a Miles Kane, a.k.a John Ashton, a.k.a Josh Homme, a.k.a Dizzy Rascal…
Rob is an accomplished and versatile multi-instrumentalist with a broad experience from jazz ensembles, pit-bands, orchestras, rap-rock tributes. Primarily providing Jamie Cook’s lead guitar riffs that create Arctic Monkeys’ signature sound, Rob also steps in for keys and guest vocals.
